I'm still here!

You've probably noticed that I completely failed with the fashion challenge!
I've been so busy with my uni work, but I've handed in a huge project which I'm really proud of, and have begun my last one which is a pretty hectic one!

Some of my uni work

I have 2 weeks left at uni until I finish my degree, and you can probably guess it's hell right now trying to get everything done! So the blogs been a little neglected. I finish on the 29th, so expect to be inundated with blog posts from me from the 31st onwards (on the 30th I plan to hide under my duvet all day!)

I am still pretty active on twitter (even though I should be doing my work!) and am just about keeping up with the fashion challenge on Instagram too, so feel free to follow me there (my username is notjustskindeep).

I feel so bad for neglecting this blog for so long, and I have a list of posts as long as my arm to write about (not even joking), plus a few more DIY skincare products which I've been using for a while now and LOVE. One of which is actually amazing at clearing up any breakouts!

I'll leave you with photos of my instagram challenge from where I left off:

#StyleMeMay, Days 4-17
Top Row: Day 17: Style Icon | Day 16: See Me Blush | Day 15 Ivy League Preppy | Day 14: All About The Eyes | Day 13: Seen on a Style Blog
Middle Row: Day 12: Garden Party | Day 11: Colour Below the Ankles | Day 10: Classic White Shirt | Day 9: Used to Scare You | Day 8: Fresh Lipstick Colour
Bottom Row: Day 7: A World Traveller | Day 6: Layer Jewellery | Day 5: Put a Scarf on it | Day 4: Always Gets Complimented

I'll be back to blogging soon, and hope to take part in another challenge next month if there are any about!
I've also had a request to post about my scary lipstick collection, so that will be up sometime after the 30th.

Cant wait to be finished with this degree and back to blogging again!

May Fashion Challenge: Day 3

---Day 3---

-31 Day Fashion Challenge-
"Something you're wearing for the first time"

To cheer myself up on my fabric trip to London on my birthday I treated myself to this bad boy with money I got from my grandparents. I got the YSL Rouge Volupte lipstick in shade 9 (Caress Pink). I'll admit I originally wanted one of these purely because the packaging is so beautiful. But I fell in love with this shade as soon as I swatched it, and this is seriously the best lipstick I have ever used.

It glides on so perfectly, and has amazing colour pay-off after just one light swipe! So if you like to vary how much of a lipstick you apply, then you may wish to use a lip brush for a lighter effect and more control.

It did set me back £23.50, so it is in no way cheap, but personally if ever a lipstick deserves to be expensive, it's this one! Definitely the best quality make up product I've used by far.

May Fashion Challenge: Day 2

---Day 2---

-31 Day Fashion Challenge-
"You Have The Most..."
...Scarves

I was tempted to make this one beauty related as really the thing I have the most of is lipsticks, but I thought I'd keep it fashion related to stick with the theme, so my scarf collection would probably be my biggest thing in my wardrobe.

This might not be a lot to some people, but I definitely own way more than I need. A lot of these are for when I get cold in the winter, but I do want to start wearing more scarves as the weather (hopefully) gets warmer. Then at least it would kind of justify the amount I have!

May Fashion Challenge: Day 1

------Day 1------

-31 Day Fashion Challenge-
 "Your Wardrobe"
I always love to see how others organise their clothes, make up etc. so am definitely loving this challenge! It has taken a long time to get my room the way I want it, particularly my wardrobe. My room is a really odd shape so it was quite difficult, but I finally got it perfect last year. Of course I wish it were bigger, but sadly I my sister wont let me kick her out of her room, so my dreams of a walk in wardrobe will have to wait.. *sigh*

Welcome to Narnia..
My room used to be 2 tiny rooms, but we knocked the dividing wall down to make it a decent size (hence the random strip of carpet in the middle). We put shelves and rails into the doorway I don't use to turn that into built in wardrobe. We also put a mirrored double sliding door in too which covers the doorway and the wall next to it, so it looks bigger than it is when closed. Its obviously useful having a big full length mirror there, plus it makes my long and narrow room look a little wider.

Clothes

There is a high rail at the front for dresses and long skirts, then at the back there is a rail above a shelf which just fits tops, cardigans, short skirts and folded trousers. I have tried to organise it by colours too to make outfit building easier (white-cream-beige-yellow-orange-red-purple-blue-green-black).

Shoes
On the floor I keep my shoes on a rack, boots on the floor, and I use bins to store my flip flops and umbrellas.

May Fashion Challenge

You may have seen Fashion challenges popping up on a few peoples blogs for this month, and I've decided I want to take part!

May 31 Day Fashion Challenge

This one I saw on Terezas blog 'Cityscape Bliss', and felt I had to get involved! As I'm still in the midst of my degree its hard to post regularly, but this will be quite easy to keep up with. So on days where I don't have time to write a full blown review etc, I'll at least make time for this.

Birthday OOTD

So I know I haven't posted in a while because of my workload, and now here I am publishing 2 posts in 1 night!
As you know from my previous post, it was my birthday yesterday. My sister came down for a rare visit for it, so I took advantage of her being there and got her to photograph an outfit of the day!

I went to London for the day (work related sadly, not for anything exciting), and although it was actually sunny for once, it was a little chilly (for me anyway, though this is coming from someone who got cold in the Cyprus sun!) so this was the outfit I chose to wear there:

Feminine Edge
Jacket - charity shop | Top - Primark | Pleated Maxi Skirt - Primark
Belt - H&M | Shoes - Primark | Bag - Primark
Watch - River Island | Bracelets - Shimmering Summer Bracelets | Cat Ring - Ebay

Coral Eyes
Mac 'Samoa Silk | 'Paradisco' | 'Free to Be'

Lip Combo
Topshop 'Enamoured' | Mac 'Snob'

Birthday Instagram

A few of my presents | Sunny skies | CCO
Las Iguanas to celebrate with my boyfriend | At the restaurant | My OH
OCC Haul | Birthday nibbles | Late night reading on my new Kindle

It was my birthday yesterday, and I turned 24 *updates blogger and twitter profile*. I didnt do much on the day as I have soooo much work to do :(
I ended up trekking into London to buy a ten tonne of fabric, but I did get to spend some of it with family which was nice.
Its also my boyfriends birthday tomorrow, so at the weekend we went to Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth for the day, and went to our favourite restaurant to celebrate.
-Seriously, you all need to get yourselves down to a Las Iguanas and try the xin xim, it is amazing!

I loved all my gifts, but I was so happy to see I got a kindle! I've wanted one of these for far too long.
I love reading, but haven't picked up a book in so long because of studies, so this will be the perfect thing to get me back into it. Also with my back problems it means I wont be weighed down by carrying anything heavy. On my list of books to read are "The Hunger Games" trilogy, "The Uglies" quartet, and "A Game of Thrones" series. Currently working my way through the beast that is "Great Expectations" first (down to a deal I made with my boyfriend to bribe him into reading), so it looks like I'm going to be busy!
