Jewellery Haul

Just before the new year I attempted to find some bargains in the sales (typically everything I liked was full price!) and came across these beauties in New Look.
As much as I love the look of gold jewellery, I only really wear silver. I've been really struggling to find nice statement jewellery as everything nice seems to be gold.

Finally I came across these so I snapped them up straight away. I've also been looking for collar tips too so stocked up on a few of those too! I don't feel so bad that they weren't in the sale as I know I'll be getting a lot of use out of them.
The collar tips are £4.99 each and the necklaces were around £13.

I can't wait to get styling with these, and will definitely be featuring them in upcoming outfit posts too.

Fashion Haul

Last week I had money for the first time in I don't know how long, so I went into town with the sole purpose of buying some tops and jeans/trousers as I'm seriously lacking them in my wardrobe. 

Annoyingly I was a big failure, and came back with jackets and dresses! For years I've failed to buy a jacket with a hood, and when I got home I realised I had again bought hood-less jackets. So I pretty much suck!

But I'm still really happy with my purchases, and as hauls are such a rare thing for me at them moment, I thought I'd share this one with you. I figured I'd start buying for autumn/winter, but I'd say they're also pretty much wearable now:

H&M

H&M | Black Imitation Leather Jacket: £29.99 

Although I do have a leather jacket, it used to be my sisters but she gave it to me as it doesnt really fit her any more. It's a little big for me, and probably not the best style of jacket for my shape. This one fit me perfectly, and I figured £30 was a bargain as most retail at around £50+.

I love the quilting detail at the shoulders, and the belt at the bottom. I think I'm going to stud the hand-me-down one, so I'll get some wear out of both of them still.

H&M | Tan Imitation Suede Jacket: £29.99 

This jacket I saw a girl wearing at uni, and I asked her where it was from as I thought it looked amazing on her, and she said she got it from H&M a few years ago. I was so happy when I walked into the shop and saw they'd brought it back! I'm assuming there are some changes to the cut and detailing of it since then, but I still love it and had to buy it! Not convinced it suits my skin tone, but I could always whack on a bit fake tan. The cut and style of this fits my shape at least, plus it gives the illusion that I have a chest, so I'm definitely not complaining!

Topshop

Topshop | Blue/Purple Skater Dress: £20 

This dress looks more purple in real life, but it photographed blue. Also on their website its listed as both blue and purple so it's obviously having a bit of an identity crisis.
I've had a £20 gift voucher for topshop since my birthday in April, and its been burning a hole in my pocket ever since, but I just haven't seen anything I liked. I did think maybe I should buy some jewellery, but all they seem to sell is gold, and I dont like to wear gold jewellery. I really don't know why, I like it on others, I'm just a freak I guess!

Any way, I saw this dress, and as I love purple (a colour I'm excited to see is going to be a big trend for A/W) and find skater styles are quite flattering, I figured I'd get it. The fact that it was exactly £20 helped convince me too! But I can pretty much bet that now I've spent that voucher, Topshop are going to start selling things I actually like.

New Look

New Look | Black Mesh Insert Dress: £22.99

Finally, the last shop I went to was New Look. I had plans to go out at the weekend, so went to look for a dress to wear for it. I finally caved in to the whole 'black bodycon mesh instert dress' look, and I actually quite liked it on. Its not that I don't like the style, it's just I didn't think it would suit me.

I'll admit I mostly like this dress because it has princess seams (if you don't know what they are, you can kind of see in the close up that the seam comes from the armpit, over the bust, and then straight down), and I personally think they're the most flattering kind of seams on anyone. I also love the bold zip at the back of the dress. I'm sure not everyone likes visible zips, but I'm a bit of a sucker for them at the moment.

New Look | Coral Cross-Body Bag: £12.99

Lastly I got this coral bag to go with the black dress. My boyfriend hates it when I wear black, so I thought I'd try and bring some kind of colour into the outfit. I do like this bag, but it really doesn't fit a lot in it, and the magnetic clasp it a bit dodgy so you really can't get away with trying to over stuff it. If you can get away with bringing only the barest essentials, then I'd recommend it. Though I'm used to carrying small bags and not carrying a lot, and I still struggled a bit with this and ended up having to leave my phone at home.

So that's my entire haul. It's not as impressive as some peoples, but I'm broke and definitely probably spent more than I should have!

London Haul pt.2

Continuing with part two of my London Haul (you can read part one here), these are a couple of things I picked up in Muji:

Muji Pill Box

I saw this in the Muji concession in Selfridges and thought it would be perfect for using as a lipstick palette, or to mix pount paints/lip tars in (lipstick is there so you can get an idea of its size). And it was only £1.25 from their travel section. Though the dividers are removeable, so not water-tight. If you were to use this to melt lipsticks into, you may want to permanently glue the dividers down first.

Muji Wide 2-Drawer Storage

Last but by no means lest, I finally got myself one of the Muji drawers! I have been lusting after one of these for a while now, but I don't live anywhere near a Muji store. I took advantage of being in central London for the day and picked this up in Selfridges.

Obviously the photo above is off the website (I forgot to take photos before I filled it), but below are photos of how I'm not using it from bottom to top:

Bottom Drawer

I filled the bottom drawer with all of my Barry M Dazzle dusts, a few benefit pigments and some miscellaneous ones. This is the heaviest drawer, so I'm keeping this at the bottom in case the weight is too much for it, at least the drawer will have the support of my desktop underneath!

This drawer is the result of far too many 3for2 offers on Barry M dusts in Superdrug. I haven't seen any of those offers for a while now, so for now it hasn't grown any further. But I'm sure that wont last for long..

Top Drawer

In the top draw I've put my MAC pigments, undepotted MAC eyeshadows, and any other eyeshadows/pigments that aren't in palettes.

As you can see this set of drawers is just for my eyeshadows, and its got a bit of room left in the top drawer in case my Dazzle Dust collection grows again!

On Top

On top of my drawers I've temporarily laid out a few of my blushes. 

I am definitely going to buy another one of these drawers next time I go to London, and it will be solely to store my blushes and bronzers. I don't want to pile them on top of each other as I want to be able to see everything I have at a glance.

What are your thought on the Muji drawers? I think I've already become addicted to them as I'm definitely eager to get more! -Which is a little worrying in regards to my bank balance...

Make Up Haul

I had a welcome surprise at work yesterday when I found a payslip waiting for me!

-I've just started working there and so was not expecting to get anything for another month.

So of course I took advantage of the increase in my bank balance and went shopping!

TK MAXX

Rotary Holder £5.99

I love TK MAXX for its homewares section, and whilst browsing I found this rotary holder which would be perfect for storing make up brushes, pencils, mascaras, or anything else you can think of. 

-I'll be using mine to section off my eyeliners, lip liners, eyebrow pencils etc.

Eyeko Tinted Cream £4.99 (RRP £8.95)

I also picked up some make up bargains like Eyeko's Limited Edition Tinted Cream for nearly half price!

It says it can be used as a moisturiser, eye cream or highlighter.

I really like the colour of this and can't wait to try it out. The only thing about it is that whilst swatching I found it dried quickly which may make it difficult to blend.

The skin on my face is very temperamental so I'd be very interested to see if this will break me out.

Eyeko London Lips £4.99 for all three (RRP £6.50 each!)

This was such a huge bargain! I got 3 lipglosses for less than a full priced one!

And I love all three of the colours (they come in a pack so you can't really choose all 3)

The only downside to these lipglosses is that they're sticky. Personally I can't stand them if they're sticky, but the colours are so pretty I think I may make an exception for these!

Studio Basics 4 Piece Mineral Make Up Travel Brush Set £5.99 (RRP £9.99)

These brushes are fabulous!

I don't know if you can tell, but they're so tiny, but such good quality!

I really wasn't expecting much from them because of their price, and plus I'd never heard of the brand before.

But I'm so glad I decided to get them because now all doubts about them have gone!

You can't really see in this photo but the bristles are very densely packed, and are soo soft even before washing.

So far I've used the Bronzer Brush and it's amazing.

Miss a Kit £3

Now this is a bit of a random purshase!

I'm pretty much a sucker for multi-use items as well as products that are handbag sized, so when I saw this I couldn't help myself.

I know it's a bit naff looking, and its baby pink (not really a fan) but at £3 I got it anyway!

It has 15 uses:

Mirror, Flashlight, Scissors, Nail File, Tweezers, Pen, Pill Box, Perfume Bottle, Knife, Ruler, Bottle Opener, Screwdriver, Bottle Opener, Sewing Kit, and Key Chain.

Love the idea of this. So many times I've needed a nail file, or a hair band etc. So when I saw this 'emergency' kit I had to get it. 

It's such a handy tin as you can always take out something you wont need and swap it for something you do (I'd swap the apparel tape for safety pins).

Again, it's handbag sized - what more can I say!

SUPERDRUG

3 Minute Miracle Deep Treatment Sachets, 99p Each

I'm pretty sure I'm killing my hair as it's in awful condition at the moment! 

I remember I used to always use Aussie's 3 minute miracle back when my hair was lovely and soft, so I thought I'd try it again. I couldn't decide between which one to get so I thought I'd see which sachet works for me.

Charles Worthington Hair Serum £1.89

I don't usually use hair serum as I feel it makes my hair lose any of the volume I'd managed to give it. 

-However, as I said, my hair's started to get in really bad condition, so I need all the help I can get to tame it. 

As before, I was sold by the fact it's handbag sized :/

As hard as I tried, I couldnt stop myself from wandering into the make up section.

I wasn't as bad as I thought, and ended up only buying these (I've been known to come back with more!)

-Famous currently has an offer of 3 for 2 in Superdrug, so I picked up 3 of their lip products. 

Famous Lipstick Shade 4, £4

I love the design of this lipstick, and think it's so pretty. However the lipstick doesn't always 'click' into its lid so sometimes it does come out - though if you take care to make sure its secure then it will stay in place.

Anyway, the important bit! The Colour: I really like this colour (obviously - I chose it!).
It's a nice rose colour, but not too strong. It's very subtle but not sheer, the colour pay-off is very good.
-Too many times I've picked up what looks to be a nice colour, put it on and found it's too sheer/strong. To me this is perfect!
And it's very easy to build up the colour to make it stronger should you wish to go bolder. (or if you like it sheer, apply it with a lip brush to lips that have been coated with lip balm)

These are two shades from their Diamond Shimmer collection.
-Personally I'm really not a fan of glittery make up, but these are very subtle and are more of a shimmer.
These would be lovely used alone and over a lipstick to give it that extra kick. I love both of these colours, and will definitely be experimenting with these over different lipstick colours/shades.

Accessorize Lip Gloss in 'Idol', £3

Unfortunately this lipgloss wasn't on offer - I just liked the colour!

They have another lipgloss in the same colour as this, but in a deeper shade. I opted for the lighter one for once as I'm trying to be a bit lighter in my colour choices and experiment a bit more with my lip colours.

And that's it so far! 

I will do more in depth reviews of some of these products (the Tinted Cream, the Brush's and possibly the Hair Treatments) once I've had a chance to test them out properly.
